God has so much more for us!
Ephesians 1 lists some of the results of being in Christ (or surrendering your life to Christ): We can be certain of God's love; He chose us to be holy; He adopted us into a permanent family-relationship; He purchased our freedom; He has forgiven us from all our sin; He has showered with kindness & wisdom; He has a rich inheritance for us; and He has placed us (in a previously chosen spot) in His story where He is working out every event & circumstance according to His plan.
Why do most Christians miss out on what the LORD has done for us?
Many times, I believe we simply are too comfortable with our sin. We are so accustomed to being angry, jealous, insecure, bitter, fearful, self-centered, bad habits, etc. we believe it is simply "normal" even though Scripture clearly teaches we are a whole new creation (God's masterpiece – Ephesians 2:10)!
Ephesians 2:8 says God saved you by His grace when you believed (faith). BTW – God didn't save you from hell; He saved you from sin. Sin is our problem & hell is only the place of eternal punishment for sinners. Too often, when it comes of our salvation, we think only in terms of heaven & hell. God is concerned about our sin problem that strangles the new life we have in Christ.
How do we experience more of our new life in Christ?
Increase the volume of Truth in your life: Read Scripture, memorize verses, join a small group for Bible study, attend weekly worship services (making sure your head & heart are engaged. Over time His voice will be the one most easily distinguished from the rest & will become your new "normal."
